Finding Accurate Volume Information in a Block with Stratus

Hi, and welcome to another episode of Lim Geomatics“Did you know?”

Did you know Stratus is a web-based forest management platform that allows foresters to cut out guesswork in knowing what inventory volume they have?

Stratus allows you to view inventory for a single block, multiple blocks, and blocks based on different parameters, such as management unit or inventory date.

Suppose you want to send a specific product to a mill. You will need to know the volume of products in your blocks.

In Stratus, we can use the Inventory Management module. Select the block you want to view and open the report for that block.

You can view the volume and other information for each product by species. In this stand, we have Pine Saw log and Pine Pulpwood.

You can also roll-up the product statistics by different categories.

If you want to export this information, you can export a report.

By using inventory in Stratus, you can remove the guess work on which products you have in your inventory. In today’s example, we viewed reports on our inventory for a block. But that’s not all we could do: we could view inventory for multiple blocks or blocks based on different parameters, such as management unit or inventory date.
